Registration is open through Oct. 10 for Intramural Flag Football at the MRec.

Participation is free for McNeese and SOWELA students. Students can register at imleagues.com or by scanning the QR code on the flyer.

The MRec offers men’s only, women’s only, and coed divisions.

“Anybody can do it,” said MRec employee Noah David. The more people we get, the better.”

After the regular season, teams will be seeded for the playoffs, and then division winners qualify for the state tournament Nov. 21-23 in New Orleans. The McNeese Rec pays for teams to travel and compete.

Director of Recreation and Wellness Programming Jordan Owens said he is eager to help students sign up for intramural sports.

“While the [registration] deadline can be flexible if necessary, we strongly encourage all teams to complete registration before the first game on Oct. 13,” Owens said. “We are happy to assist any students with the registration process. Simply visit our office for support.”

The rosters for men’s and women’s teams will be limited to 15 players per team, with seven players allowed on the field at once. The coed division is allowed 16 players per team, with eight players allowed on the field at any given time and the additional rule that teams must field an even split of males and females.

All necessary equipment, such as footballs and flag belts, is provided by the MRec, but teams may bring their own football if they prefer. Players should bring their student ID to check in before games.
