Chi Omega held its fourth annual Thrift Store event in the Quad Wednesday to benefit a 9-year-old girl named Karlee whom the sorority has sponsored through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The sorority set up shop with boxes full of clothes donated by members of Chi Omega. Members encouraged students to fill a bag for $5. All proceed from the sale go toward fulfilling Karlee’s wish of swimming with dolphins in the Bahamas.
Karlee is battling cystic fibrosis, a life-threatening respiratory disorder, said senior Emma Dobson, a behavioral studies major and the coordinator of the event.

| “Every year we sponsor a Make-A-Wish child. This year, we want to fulfill Karlee’s wish of going to swim with dolphins,” Dobson said. “Every year, we contact our event coordination representative from the Make-A-Wish marketing team to make sure that the funds we raise go to the right place.” Chi Omega will also be holding a 48-hour Online Donation Challenge Friday through Saturday. Anyone who wishes to donate to make Karlee’s wish come true can do so through the link below or by scanning the QR code above. |
