The First Year Experience (FYE) office has released its Fall 2025 newsletter containing reports about student participation and programming data from its inaugural semester.
The report contains information about the Class of 2029, which is the largest freshman class at McNeese in over a decade. Data points from the semester include:
- Office Attendance: The FYE office recorded over 1,200 student visits.
- Registration Participation: More than 500 first-year students attended the Registration Rodeo to prepare for spring 2026 course enrollment.
- Training Completion: 91.03% of first-year students enrolled in orientation completed the required Vector trainings.
The FYE program initiated the SPUR Mentor Program to connect students with trained peer mentors. The office also hosted several events throughout the semester, including Freshman Convocation, Tacos and Tutoring, and Freshman Fest.
