McNeese State University defeated the Louisiana Christian Wildcats 11–1 Wednesday night at Joe Miller Ballpark
The Cowboys took an early lead, putting constant pressure on Louisiana Christian’s pitching staff while limiting the Wildcats’ scoring opportunities.
In the second inning, the Cowboys put up four runs and quickly took control of the game. McNeese hitters stayed aggressive at the plate, consistently getting on base and driving in runs throughout the night.
McNeese’s lineup produced 13 total hits, with multiple hitters contributing to the scoring surge. Senior shortstop Connor Schneider gave the team two key hits. Junior right-handed pitcher Garett Blanchard on the mound led the way for McNeese, delivering a strong performance while earning his first win of the season in his debut start.
The Cowboys’ pitching staff combined to allow just four hits and one run, preventing the Wildcats from building any momentum.
Despite a few errors on defense the Cowboys were able to maintain control of the game behind solid pitching and hitting
With the win, McNeese improves to 13-12 as the team prepares for upcoming weekend series against Abilene Christian.
