| Mark Peters has been named director of operations for McNeese State University’s LNG Center of Excellence. Peters began the role Oct. 1. Prior to this role, Peter has worked as a chemical engineer, plant manager and senior executive with Dow Chemical, Orion Engineered Carbons, Lotte Chemical and Westlake Corp. The center, which officially opened in April 2026, was created as a hub for LNG training, research, workforce development and collaboration among education, industry, government and the community. Peters said his industry experience will help him understand the operational needs of local LNG facilities and connect those needs with McNeese programs. “My primary goal is straightforward: to deeply understand the operational needs of our local LNG facilities and deliver exact, high-value solutions to satisfy them,” Peters said in a university press release. Dr. Michael Buckles, provost and vice president for academic affairs, said Peters will help strengthen connections between McNeese, industry partners, government and the community. |
