About The Poke Press

Since the very founding of McNeese in 1939, students have been writing, editing, and sharing the stories that matter most to the community. Formerly known as The Contraband, The Poke Press is one of the university’s eight founding organizations, keeping the spirit of student journalism alive more than eighty years later.

The newsletter is published every Friday during the fall and spring semesters and is emailed to all McNeese students, faculty and staff.
